A Review Of Homespun's new Instant
Access Music System

My first contact with Homespun was in 1972, when I was in college. I bought an instructional guitar
book to learn how to play acoustic guitar. I still play those songs today!
Since that time I have bought tapes and DVD's to learn how to play electric guitar, bluegrass,
finger picking music, blues and even some dulcimer music. All the material has been very well presented and easy to
use. Homespun always over delivers, for sure.
The new Instant Access Music System is fantastic, just watch the demo and you will see what I mean.
For a very reasonable fee you can download instructional material from any of hundreds of
artists.
Once you download it, the material is yours, you do not need to be online to use it. This is very
convenient and makes it easy to use whenever you want, all you need is your computer. If you want to learn how to
play slide guitar, learn guitar chords, play blues guitar, learn lead or rock guitar, it is all
here.
The lessons are broken down into small segments, or chapters that you can skip to at will. This is a big
improvement over DVD's because you can find your place immediately and go back again and again to repeat
it.
System requirements
Home uses a new media system called the MOD Machine to deliver the courses. The MOD Machine runs on
Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard, and Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
All you need is a good connection, adequate memory and you are good to go. In a few minutes you will have
your favorite artist teaching you all those tasty leads and licks. Cross picking, shuffles, jazz, classical,
fingerstyle, folk, Cajun, Delta blues, it is all in their library.
How it works
You can pause it, repeat it and fast forward it, whatever you want. This is the next best thing to having
Tony Rice or Steve Kauffmann in your living rooms. They are adding more artists from their comprehensive library
all the time, so you should be able to find just about any kind of guitar playing you want.
The best way to find out is to check out the free demo. This is one of the best ways to learn how to play
guitar online, or offline. I have had all kinds of books, DVD's and tapes over the years, but Homespun is my
favorite.
One thing that is special about Homespun is that they are real; no hype, no frothy junk to waste your time
or money. They have been in this business a long time and know what works and what people want.
They even have a forum where you can ask questions and alway get an answer, usually from Happy Traum, the
co-owner. I would highly recommend this sevice to anyone wishing to learn how to play guitar; acoustic or
electric.
